Vethakozhambu


Vethakozhambu!!! Ingredients:

Turmeric powder - 1 tsp 
Tamerind extract - 2 cups (diluted) 
Jaggery - 3 tsp
Salt - to taste 
Masala powder :
Dhanya - 2tsp 
Chennadal - 2tsp 
Pepper - 1tsp 
Red chillies - 4no.s 
Fenugreek - 1/2tsp 
Cumin seeds - 1tsp

For tempering :

Manathangalika vethal - 2 tbsp 
Gingali oil - 2 tbsp 
Musturd - 2 tsp 
Curry leaves - handful 
Method

Dry roast all the ingredients mentioned under masala powder and powder them together. 
In a Kadai, heat oil, add musturd, curryleaves, manathangalika and fry well. Let it splutter well. 
Add the tamarind extract, turmeric powder, salt and jaggery. 
Let them all come together and now add the masala powder once the raw smell of tamerind vanishes. 
Let it boil, shrink in amount and once the oil comes out, our vethalkozhambu is ready. 
Serve it hot with rice, ghee and appalaam. This is best ever food at rainy season❤
