Manga Puli patchadi
Ingredients
Raw mangoes - 1 cup
Tamerind extract - 2 tbsp
Red chilli powder - 2 tsp
Asafortida - 1 tsp
Gingali oil - 1 tsp
Musturd - 1 tsp
Salt - to taste
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Jaggery - 1 tsp
Method
In a Kadai, add oil, musturd and let it splutter.
Add asafortida and turmeric powder followed by mangoes.
Cook for 2-5 mins and add Tamerind extract. Add salt and jaggery
Add water and boil for 10 mins.
Once the mangoes turn mashy, add red chilli powder and cook for another 10 mins.
Once it turns thick, turn off the flame.
Our mango Puli patchadi is ready to serve. This goes well with any spiceless rice, idly, Dosa, bread, chappathis, etc.
