Vadai / paruppu vadai
Ingredients
Chenna dal - 1/2 cup
Thoor dal - 1/2 cup
Red chillies - 1
Green chillies - 1
Curry leaves - handful
Salt - to taste
Asafortida - 1 tsp
Oil - to fry
Method
Soak both the dals with chillies for 1 hr.
Now add this soaked ingredients, curry leaves and grind them coarsely together.
Make it into a thick batter.
Now add asafortida and salt and mix well.
Now heat the oil.
Once the oil gets heated, turn the flame to medium.
Take small portion of batter and make it into small patis or cutlet like piece and drop it into the hot oil. Repeat the same.
Now cook them well and take them out once the color turns to golden brown.
Serve them hot and crispy.
