PUTTU
Ingredients
Raw rice - 1cup soaked for an hr and dried
Salt - to taste
Water - in lukewarm temperature
Coconut - 1/2 cup grated
Method
Once you soak and dry the rice, grind it coarsely where you get a texture of rava.
Now add salt to warm water, mix and keep it ready.
Add the coarsely powdered rice in to a bowl.
Sprinkle the salty water into the bowl while you continue to mix.
Continue to sprinkle till each rice particle or gets the moisture. Now you should be able to make a ball with this mixture but should also break down as soon as you touch the ball.
In the puttu maker, add rice mixture follow by grated coconut and again rice mixture. The rice mixture layer should be thick comparatively to the coconut.
Let it get cooked for 20 mins.Your authentic puttu is ready. Enjoy with curry or Nendhrampazham ❤
