Basic tomato-onion paste
This tomato-onion paste is very common in most of the Northindian curries that we prefer. So I am sharing the method to prepare this paste which you can refer for future purposes.
Ingredients
Onion - 1 cup
Tomato - 1 cup
Crushed ginger garlic - 2 tsp
Cashews - 4 no.s
Red chilli powder - 2 tsp
Cumin seeds powder - 1 tsp
Dhanya powder - 2tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Green chillies - 1 (optional)
Gingali oil - 2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Method
In a Kadai, add oil, onions and keep mixing. Cook well till it turns to be translucent.
Add crushed ginger garlic, chillies and cook till the raw flavor vanishes.
Now add tomatoes, cashews and cook well till it turns to be mashy.
Now add all the powders, salt, water and cook well.
Once it comes together, turn off the flame and let it rest.
Now add this into the mixie jar and grind well into a fine paste.
Our all curry basic paste is ready.
