Lemon aval
Ingredients
Aval - 1 cup (soaked in water)
Lemon - 1/2
Ground nut or cashew - 2 tsp
Channa dal - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Green chillies - 2 tsp (finely chopped)
Musturd - 1 tsp
Grated coconut - 1 tbsp
Oil - 2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Coriander leaves or curry leaves - little
Method
In a Kadai, heat the oil and add musturd, let it splutter.
Now add all the dals and nuts. Let them turn into golden color.
Add chillies, turmeric powder and salt and mix well.
Drain the water from aval and make sure the aval has left maximum amount of water out.
Add this aval to this kadai and mix well.
Mix it evenly and see through that the salt and turmeric get spread evenly.
Once it cools down, squeeze the lemon and mix well.
Now add grated coconuts and mix well. Add coriander or curry leaves.
Note: We should proceed in sim flame once aval is being added. This prevents from stickiness or getting burned.
