Tomato - onion Thokku







Ingredients 


Onion - 3 no.s 
Tomato - 1 no. 
Green chillies - 1no.  
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp 
Turmeric powder  - 1/2 tsp 
Ghee - 1 tsp 
Gingali oil - 1 tsp 
Mustard - 1 tsp 
Salt to taste 
Sugar - 1 pinch 

Method 


Add mustard to the oil-ghee mixture in a kadai. 
Now add onions and green chillies and let the onion turn transparent. 
Add tomato, turmeric powder, Red chilli powder and salt. Water can be added if required. 
Once the tomatoes get cooked well, add sugar to it and mix well and let it get thick consistency. 
This can served with lemon rice, curd rice, chappathis, idlies, dosas and bread slices. 

This is one of the simplest dish which I learnt from my maternal paati and it tastes highly heavenly wen served hot. This goes great with chappathi, dosai, idly, poori, bread and plain rice.
