Chakka varattiyadh or Jackfruit jam or palapazham vizhudhu



Chakka varattiyadh / Chakka vizhudh (Jackfruit jam) 
Ingredients 
Jackfruit - 2 cup(cleaned and chopped)
Jaggery - 1 cup (powdered) 
Sugar - 2 tsp 
Ghee - 2 tsp 
Water - as required 
Method 
Boil the Jackfruit pieces and keep it aside. 
Now make jaggery syrup (not too thick) 
Grind the boiled jackfruit by adding water to it and make it into a juice.

Filter this Jack fruit essence so tat the remaining impurities or any outer skin will get removed.

In a Kadai, add ghee, Jack fruit essence and jaggery syrup. Keep stirring until it turns into a halwa consistency. 
Now convert it into a vessel and let it cool down. 
Sprinkle sugar on top of it and store it inside refrigerator.

Chakka varattiyadh or vizhudhu is ready. 
Note: 
This is an authentic keralite preparation. This jam can be used as a dip or side dish for idly, Dosa, chappathi, bread and added as too fruit salad too.
